Sustainable Landscape Design Services
Earth Design Gardens works with you to create beautiful, enjoyable, healthy landscapes. We encourage the use of local materials and plants that will thrive in the micro-climates present in your garden.
It starts with a conversation. We listen to what you’re looking for – how you want to use the space, your dreams for your garden and your challenges. Some of our clients have a specific vision – Earth Design Gardens helps translate those ideas into a conceptual design that can be built the way you envision it. Other clients aren’t sure what they’re looking for – we’ll ask questions and provide suggestions to help guide the process and get a better idea of what your style and goals are.
The next step is for Earth Design Gardens to take detailed observations of the space. Taking note of the soil, topography, areas of seasonal sun and shade, and noting patterns of movement and habitat. This process gives us insight on the unique conditions present in your landscape and aids us in selecting plants that will flourish and elements that will be a best fit. We work with you to come up with a plan that saves you time and resources.
Next, we translate the plan into a 2D conceptual design that we will present to you. When you are ready to install your design, we can introduce you to licensed landscape contractors to build your project. We provide consultation services if you would like us to help navigate the installation process, and speak both English and Spanish. Our optional 3D rendering services give you a clearer idea of what your landscape will look like once it is established.
Consulting and Coaching Services
Landscape Consulting: In addition to full landscape design services, we also offer hourly consultations. Just moved to a new home and want to get ideas for your outdoor space? Or maybe you have an existing garden and have spaces that need to be filled in or updated. We can answer your questions and guide you through the steps to revive your garden. We can provide you with material recommendations, detailed plant lists, alternative selections, recommended nurseries, personal shopping services, and plant care instructions.
Garden Coaching: New to gardening? We can help if you’re starting your own garden or give you advice about an existing landscape. Or maybe you just have a tricky gardening issue you aren’t sure how to resolve? Earth Design Gardens is here to empower you to feel confident in your garden. We have experience with California native plants, drought-tolerant and low-water plants, all types of edible plants and fruit trees, succulents and cacti, habitat and pollinator-friendly plants, and more! We can teach you how to work with your environment to grow healthy, delicious and organic foods with the least amount of energy.
Drafting Services
Earth Design Gardens offers landscape design drafting and rendering services to homeowners and landscape professionals. We can turn your hand drawings into precise scaled designs. Having a good plan before you get started helps save time and money.
Computer aided design allows for quick editing and simple creation of multiple versions of a design. We can also create 3D renderings and video walk-thrus of your landscape, hardscape and outdoor lighting plans. We have many landscape design styles available and can include your branding.
